512th Cadian [WIP]

I’ve always liked the Imperial Guards.  Maybe it was due to the fact that I served in the service, infantry has a special place in my heart.  It was only a pity that this new codex did not arrive a year earlier – you would be looking at a complete gallery rather a WIP journal then.   But then again, part of the fun of success is the journey for.

512th Cadian required some special attention from me.  First off, I decided to stay with a very limit set of pallets.    A few shades of grey, black, blue for lens and white for free hands and sums up the entire color spectrum for this army.  I am also trying to achieve realistic weathering by using very basic but controlled methods of washing/staining and graphite marking.  It is too early to tell if the experiment is a failure or a success, but feel free to leave comments so I know what I need to improve on.
