The Hive Queen: Tervigon Part II

Finally managed to snap a couple shots of the latest development of the Tervigon before I rush to my kid’s appointment this afternoon.

I started playing with the terrain resin after failed to construct any satisfying pic for the egg sack.  I was going to make it huge like an Ant Queen’s, but then realized I’ll probably need a 10″ base to display that…. not very useful.  I tried to make it look spherical, but it make the bug looking fat, not mean… I tried to make it  long, but it came out looking like a turd… So I settled for something that resembles the abdomen of an insect.  The concept is that the Tervigon will drop the pod after gestation period, and the pod will grow in size as the brood of Termagants meta-morph into adults.  That means I’ll probably need to construct some bigger ones for the scenic display, and cut one open for the individual bases for at least 1 squad of Termagants.

I managed to get myself on some milipud today.  How I managed to make any conversion without it is beyond me.  this stuff is amazing!  Who cares it cost almost a cheap steak dinner, it is easy to work with, and make me feel like that I’m playing with puddy in the kindergarten again.  However, since I’m still a newb with the stuff, it’ll probably take me a few months, or years to become proficient with it.

Amazing what couple of Cans of Guiness and Red Bull can do to one’s creativeness at 4 o’clock in the morning.
