But I didn’t want to paint just any Tyranid. After all, if I can’t paint a model that can catches my eyes afterward and keep my interest going, it is hard for me to imagine that I would ever finish the army. So I decide to tackle one of the new critters that interest me – Tervigon.
I didn’t like the concept art in the codex so I decided to draft up my own. I pictured that a Tervigon is a cross between a ant queen and a brain bug. I actually went to the extent and draft out its whole physiology. Basically instead of laying a single egg one at a time, the Tervigon actually carries a glob of Termagant eggs inside a sack. The Tervigon will drop the sack when the gestation period is over for the termants and let the little critters go through metamorphosis inside sack. This way, it will fit the fluff that the Tervigon generate 3D6 of these buggers, and not just one at a time. I haven’t got a clue how to do to the sack yet. I am tossing between using plastic sheets or paper. But once I decided on it, I could also use them to little the display board.
Here are a few picture of the busy brooder.
The last picture showed a peep shot up the MC’s butt. I guess the next plan is to clean up the greens, apply some newer ones to fix it (the green stuff I used were like 13 year old, hurt my hands as I was going through them). And finally, decide what to do with the egg sacks and attach to the darn thing.
Another hindsight was that, upon finish the rough pose of the beast, I realized I’m going to need a bigger base – probably the same base size as papa Nurgle. Or maybe I should just use a pie plate…
