@ AbusePuppy Thanks for your inputs!

Regarding missions:

Relic and Scouring were used predominately as the secondary for the recent TSHFT as a result of random selection. One of the goal of each TSHFT is to have different combinations and the missions used for this championship probably won't show up the next one. But then again, I roll them randomly each time, so you never know.

I don't think I will change the secondary objectives from what I posted. You can trace my reasoning to a long and hard debate of whether or not a DRAW very important in competition.

Regarding Bookkeeping:

I will take the blame for this one. I was up late double checking the missions and rules and making sure I have everything ready. I normally print out the TSHFT specific rules on the back of the score sheet and this time it just went over my head. > <

I won't give further excuses, I will just make sure this blog and the FB page will stay concurrent with any rules changes.

Regarding FW:

My take on FW actually has nothing to do with balancing issues. But I will have the invitee to take a vote on it since it is their event first and foremost. If you want to know my personal reasoning with the FW, feel free grabbing me during the event and we can have a depth look at my reasoning why FW is not good for our hobby in the long run.

I have to admit I'm a bit confused with regards to Forge World and its dual status; if FW is balanced and fair and gives players better solutions to the problem of airborne targets, why not allow it at the invitational? And, on the other hand, if it's too "easy" of a solution and simply gives players overly-powerful units that neuter flyers, why allow it at the regular TSHFT events?

I'm just curious to why it would be "tactical" at one of them but not the other- indeed, if anything I would think it would be the other way around, since the invitational presumes a class of player who likely has more access to the resources needed to buy the expensive Forge World models.

With regards to the primary/secondary/tertiary, I agree that the way rulebook secondary objectives were handled was a little odd, although I didn't have any particular problem with it. One option to make things simpler would be to have the rulebook secondaries just function as the tertiaries- so First Blood, Warlord, and Linebreaker would all be 1BP each (rather than 1VP towards the primary or secondary.) Alternately, have them count towards both the primary and secondary objectives, so getting one would affect both missions equally rather than being specific to one of them. Applying them to only the secondary mission seems like it will be just as much of a potential confusion issue; "The secondaries are secondary for the secondary mission" and all that.

Also, the arrangement of missions at this TSHFT was a bit odd- for example, neither The Relic nor Scouring were used as part of the primary missions, but Purge the Alien was used twice. And, oddly, both Relic and Scouring were used for secondaries, implying that it wasn't merely an issue of dislike for those particular missions that motivated their non-inclusion for the primary objectives. Would you care to comment on the subject?

Also, speaking for some of the first-time players that came with us to the tournament, I think having the rules for scoring (and rules changes) at TSHFT would be very beneficial. A number of people didn't know that you rolled and then picked your warlord table, for example, or that tying on the secondary mission meant you split the points evenly, or that mysterious terrain/objectives were not being used. Some of these things are listed on the website, certainly... but then so are other things that are outdated and no longer correct. Having an explicit sheet where everyone can see how things work and what is changed is a good thing, I feel.

Also, how will these primary/secondaries work in combination with things that award additional Victory Points, so as winning challenges with the Legendary Fighter warlord trait or killing an Ethereal? Will those simply be additional tiebreaker points, or contribute directly to your score, or not do anything at all?

so forge world characters like zhufor the impaler can't be played using his forgeworld rules. his model has to represent a termi lord?
Just curious as he is sitting on my painting table at home.
But I think I am going towards demons for the rest of 2013 and 2014 when I get back to my stuff.
